2008 Bluebonnet Barrel Racing Association

Update: Truck and Trailer have been recoverd. Some damage but fixable. However, everything in the trailer is gone. All our saddles, blankets, pads, bridles, bits, bags, boots, bells, brushes, fly spray, show sheen - EVERYTHING !!! Please keep your eyes open for any of the BBRA saddles, headstalls - those will be hard to hide. Thank you Samantha Fitsimon, Lisa and Brian Anderson, Crissi and Nathan Williams for dropping some stuff off so that we can operate. I know a lot of you have offered and we appreciate it. The Bluebonnet Barrel Racing Association Welcomes you !!

Our Mission

Our Association offers professional and amateur barrel racers and pole benders of all ages residing in the State of Texas the opportunity to compete and compile points for year-end awards in various categories, such as Novice Classes, Pee-Wee (unassisted) 8 & under, Open 4D with Incentive Races: 3D Youth and 2D 40 and Over. BBRA holds minimum of 10, maximum of 12 jackpot point shows a year, all of which are located in counties that are within a 100 mile radius (as a crow flys) of San Antonio.

Becoming a Member

You don't have to be a Member to run with us but as a Member you can accumulate points throughout the year and have a chance to win some AWESOME awards!! Membership Forms available on-line or on race day.

Individual $30

Each additional Family Member $20

New Classified Ads !!!

Thank you to the folks at T Slash Bar arena for allowing us to come in and put on a race. Your hospitality was great. Thank you for the added money as well !! A Special Thanks to our Race Sponsors for an outstanding show!! The Gohmert's, Lisa Anderson, Dawn Bendele and Tana Jurezki. Great announcing Tana. I think I even heard Andrea up there. Thanks! Our Arena Supervisor, Lori Wells, organized some AWESOME prizes that were awarded to our "D" winners in the Open, Seniors, Youth, Pee Wee's. Name drawings were called all day. Lyssey and Eckel provided bags of oats. Cavender's provided lounge chairs, jewelry, binocular's. We had stadium seats to give out. The fastest time of the day received a $50 Gift Certificate to Victoria's Secret !! The Sound System was provided by Benji Bendele and the most stressful job of the day - the tractor driving !!! WOW - what a year!!! In 2007, over $30,000 dollars in Awards given out to our Members. We couldn't have done this with out all of our Sponsors, Members, Non-Members, Family and Friends. A Special Thank you to each and everyone of you.

Happy Birthday to our Youth Director, Brenda Knowlton - May 18th - hope it was great !!

One of our members is in need of prayer - Alexis Mayo - her dad was hospitalized yesterday for what they thought was a heart attack. She just found out its cancer. Please say a prayer for her dad, Alexis and her family. We all know how powerful prayer is. Thank you !!!

Good News about Yvette's baby girl, Leigh-Ann Grace !!! She's home from the hospital. Thank you for your prayers.

CONGRATULATIONS to John and Penny Ray on being Grandparents !!! BJ Bratten had a bouncing baby boy Sunday May 4th :)

Straight from the horses mouth!!! Well, President's mouth anyhow. Any BBRA member that puts a horse in training with me, (Darryl DuGosh) will receive $100 off and that $100 dollars will be donated to BBRA in the members name !!! How bout that !?!?! ($100 donation is worth 4 work points)

Happy Anniversary to Jennifer Crawford and her husband Lyle (2 years May 6th !!!)

I just wanted to let everyone know that Nell McClinton's husband Royce passed away on Saturday night. He passed away of a heart attack. He was 60. Nell, Natasha, and Kallee are doing as well as can be expected. Nell got home from the Wrap N 3 race and Royce was feeling bad and went to lay down. She heard him gasping for breath and went to check on him. She called 911 and the EMS got Air Life there but it was to late. Please pray for Nell and her girls. - Judy Neitsch

We need your prayers!!! Susan Neill's husband, Ricky, just found out that he has pancreatic cancer. Of course it was very scary, but they have been to the surgeon and it is operable. He will be going to surgery next Weds. and will be out of commission for awhile. Please ask him for blessings of a speedy recovery.

Cristin Posey and Shanon Barnes had a little tough luck at the race in Poteet - may you both feel better soon.
